On this day, the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety hosted the pre-sports games for persons living with disabilities in Kosova. Participants competed in a variety of games over two days, including handball, basketball, darts, football, chess, ping pong, wheelchair racing, archery, and more.
This event was noteworthy since Kosova was just admitted as a full member of the International Paralympic Committee. These sportsmen can now compete not only in sporting tournaments within Kosovo but also on a global scale. Kosovo’s membership in the committee implies that the country will be represented for the first time in the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024, as well as other European and international events conducted under the committee’s auspices.
The event recognized the athletes’ accomplishments while also promoting the values of inclusion and diversity via sports.
