Federation of Auto Sport of Kosova gains membership in the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA)

On this day in 2015, the Federation of Auto Sport of Kosova achieved a milestone by gaining admission into the prestigious Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) during its annual assembly held in Paris. Kujtim Shala, who was Kosova’s Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sport at the time, lauded this accomplishment as a historic marker for the nation’s sports sector. He noted that the year had been significant, as several other Kosovar sports federations had also joined their respective international bodies.

The Federation of Auto Sport of Kosova is a proactive organization, committed to elevating the standard of motorsport within the country. They have been instrumental in coordinating various car racing events, including mountain races, off-road competitions, drag racing, slalom, drift, and karting, among others. This local dynamism has now gained international recognition with FIA membership.

The FIA itself is a highly respected global body that includes 243 motoring and motor sport club members from 147 countries. Its image adds a layer of credibility and international exposure to any national federation, providing a global platform for domestic talent to shine.

Joining the FIA not only serves to internationalize Kosovar sports but also offers tangible benefits like access to advanced training, technical expertise, and participation in international competitions. This milestone serves as another chapter in Kosova’s ongoing efforts to align its sports institutions with international standards and best practices.

The inclusion in FIA has already contributed to the betterment of the sport within Kosova, providing opportunities for quality improvement and greater engagement at an international level. This represents yet another step in Kosova’s continued expansion and recognition within the international sports community, affirming the nation’s commitment to growth, quality, and global participation in various sporting disciplines.
