On this day in 2018, the Kosova-produced film Cold November won the Audience Award at the Zürich Film Festival.
The film depicts the early 1990s when the Yugoslavian government revoked Kosova’s autonomy, leading to the dissolution of its Parliament and the closure of National Television. The newly formed authority altered the entire institutional architecture. In response, the vast majority of individuals took part in peaceful protests. Fadili, who worked as an archivist during this tumultuous time, faced a difficult dilemma. He was well aware that both options were morally dubious. As a result, he was unknowingly forced to embrace a sense of humiliation. He fought off criticism from all sides and endured a ruined reputation for one reason: to ensure the well-being of his family.
Cold November has won multiple awards in film festivals across the movie industry.
