On this day in 2021, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora made history by introducing Kosova’s first-ever Program for Citizen Diplomacy. This innovative program has a single goal: tap into the potential and expertise of young professionals from the diaspora by actively involving them in the institutions of Kosova.
The Program for Citizen Diplomacy demonstrates Kosova’s dedication to transparency, as well as its confidence that its global diaspora is a powerful force for positive change. It aims to bridge the divide between the Kosova diaspora and the homeland by providing an opportunity for young talents to actively shape Kosova’s future.
Kosova hopes to strengthen international ties and promote its interests in the global arena by making use of the skills, experiences, and connections of its diaspora. This trailblazing program emphasized the concept that diplomacy is a collaborative effort that transcends borders, uniting Kosova’s population around the world in a shared mission to improve their nation’s economy and well-being.
The program effectively integrated 10 participants in its first year, providing them with direct participation in Kosova institutions. Following this achievement, the Ministry expanded the program by enlisting 25 young professionals in the program’s second cohort as part of the authorized Government program for 2023-2025.
