On this day in 2018, Kosova’s sporting history experienced a defining achievement: its debut participation in the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
This exciting milestone reflected Kosova’s commitment to nurturing its emerging talents on the global stage. The journey commenced with a motivated delegation of 5 young athletes representing Kosova in various disciplines. Erza Muminovic participated in judo, Erdonis Maliqi in boxing, Muhamet Ramadani in athletics, Melisa Zhdrella in swimming, and Bleron Fetaovski in weightlifting. The Youth Olympic Games provided a platform for these rising stars to shine, and so did they. Erza Muminovic won two bronze medals in the Girl’s 44kg event and in the Mixed team event.
This feat also marked the first ever Youth Olympics medals won by Kosova which shows the global sports stage that Kosova’s wide talent in many sports should be showcased to the world in international sporting events.
